once a divine being with tremendous power to rewrite logic and time itself, now reborn as a latent god who has forgotten her purpose and identity after erasing herself from the universe's timeline to rid herself of an unknown burden.she wanders the world in search of a new purpose and the one she has forgotten, but her amnesic state has left her feeling perpetually lost. she's prone to bouts of disorientation, and lives in a daze.

in her truest form, she is simply a mass of invisible sentient dark matter unable to physically interact with the world. she's able to materialize a body, but it lacks functioning organs; whether or not her body is simply an elaborate illusion is up for debate. it's not possible to truly kill her without destroying the halo, which is impossible by physical means.

she is hostile to others, succumbing to rage easily, and speaks with an air of condescension. rather than being traits that she's consciously developed, this seems to be left over from who she was prior to her amnesia.notes:
- her name is always written in all caps
- "DIRECTOR" is used in place of a name, rather than as a noun. there is no article preceding her title as there would be when referring to a director.

Seraphiel is gentle and finds it easy to socialize with anyone, easily blending into society as a human on the Surface, though they struggle to form genuine bonds due to a pattern of unhealthy relationships. it's difficult for them to stay true to their own ideals in company, preferring to echo what they assume others want them to hear over making their own voice heard, out of a fear of social rejection.under their parents' insistence, Seraphiel had gone into the medical field prior to Asbeel's seizure of the sphere and has a vast amount of medical expertise under their belt. in honesty, they hadn't cared much about the medical field and would have preferred to explore other career opportunities, but they caved under the pressure.now employed in the ICU, they often work themself to the bone and overextend themself to exhaustion before they allow themself to take a break, earning them the armchair diagnosis of "savior complex" by their coworkers.

Seraphiel is in an odd but functional relationship with DIRECTOR after a difficult history with her following the undoing of their conditioning, and they have adopted Angel. they reside on the surface below heaven with assistance assimilating into society as presumed humans.

Angel is the typical delinquent nightmare: they start physical fights, do drugs, drink, have multiple behavioral and conduct disorders, a general intolerance of authority figures, and a criminal history. it's impressive that they're not dead yet, though they fully expect to be any day now.unpredictable violence has caused them to view the world as a constant threat, and they're aggressive to others without discrimination. having already seen the worst of humanity before age five, trust does not come easily to them, nor should it to you when it comes to Angel.they possess frightening intelligence and have learned to exploit others with ease, manipulating their way through life and forming a dangerous network of connections along the way. being no stranger to stealing, it's said that they supply illicit substances, medical supplies, counterfeit technology, and weapons to underground markets. however, verifying this is next to impossible when they leave no paper trail, no record of transactions, and any remaining evidence of their activity tends to be doused with napalm.despite their apparent lawlessness, angel does follow their own moral code and dislikes bringing physical or emotional harm to children, animals, and innocent people that they don't consider to be an active threat. anyone who interferes with their agenda might not be granted the same courtesy.

Angel was adopted by Seraphiel at age 13, and the two had a troublesome relationship until the addition of DIRECTOR to the household some years later.they met Silence after witnessing her sobbing outside of a convenience store after she had been kicked out, and in a rare moment of good will, offered her a place to stay. whether or not their intentions were good is another story.

Silence is a softspoken girl who comes from a troubled household. her parents had high expectations for success, strongly discourage when she speaks her mind, and are prominent members of the church - values that they've also drilled into Silence's head.to minimize conflict, she seeks to be as convenient and obedient as possible rather than a person who makes her own choices. when conflict is unavoidable, she chooses to turn to obsessive prayer, hoping a divine force will save her from her dilemma instead of taking action to change her situation.she feels trapped by the religious beliefs imposed upon her, but finds herself unable to escape them for fear of the consequences.

she's eventually kicked out by her parents for expressing a desire to break away from religion. she has formed an unlikely friendship with Angel, though she openly denounces Angel's way of life and is determined to inspire them to turn over a new leaf.Seraphiel lets her stay at their house until she finds permanent shelter.

not much is known about Asbeel other than her total rule over heaven and knack for sadistic torture.she bears an uncanny resemblance to DIRECTOR, and seems to know something important about her.
